Summertime Pulled Pork (In the Slow Cooker!)
Internet sensation.
Overnight sensation.
That’s what the Crockin’ Girls were. They had a gazillion fans on Facebook, literally overnight.
I’m serious. And now they have a website, a book (!), appearances, and weekly videos.
Why you may ask?
I honestly think it is because people love their crockpots. You throw a bunch of stuff in go to work, go about your day and come home to dinner—ready.
What’s not to like about that?
I have to say I have a semi love for crockpots, because they do have a strange way of making meat a little grey and vegetables a bit brown. I also am not a fan of all of the processed “stuff” that often goes in crockpot recipes. So the challenge is to find crockpot recipes that are easy, but still have a fresh, light taste.
Voila! Summertime Pulled Pork in the Slow Cooker!

This is great for a busy weeknight or double it for entertaining. Enjoy!
Here’s What You Need: (For 6)
1.5 -1.75 pounds pork tenderloin
3/4 -1 whole beer (I recommend Leinenkugel Summer Shandy)
12 BBQ sauce
2 tablespoons honey mustard
3 tablespoons all natural peach preserves
Serve on: Whole wheat buns

Here’s What You Do:
Throw it all in the crockpot, put it on slow and show up 6-8 hours later! Break up the pork with a fork and serve on whole wheat buns.

Kid Tip:
Since dripping sandwiches are a bit tough for little kids to manage, I simply served the meat on the side and then buttered ½ of a bun for the boys. It was a hit! My 4 year old asked for seconds.
